How to get scouted

Nobody can promise you will get signed: that is someone else’s call. What is up to you is being easy to find, and making sure what you claim can be checked.

How do you get noticed by scouts?

Before anyone notices you, they have to be able to find you and believe what they read. A record your clubs have verified solves both; a clip on a social account solves neither.

Do scouts look you up online?

They look where they can check what they see. That is why it matters that your sport, position, teams and seasons sit in one place, under your name, confirmed by the people who were there.

Does it help at 12 or 14?

It helps because nothing gets lost. Most of what happens in youth sport is never recorded anywhere, and at 18 there is no way to prove it. If you are a minor, the account is yours and your guardian publishes.

What do scouts want to see?

What you did, where, when, and who confirms it. Not a list you wrote yourself.
